What is Retinal Imaging?

Retinal imaging uses advanced digital technology to take high-resolution pictures of the back of your eye, including the retina, optic disc, and blood vessels. These images provide a detailed view of your eye's internal structures, allowing our optometrists to detect and monitor eye health issues that may not be visible through a regular eye examination.

The Retinal Imaging Process

When you come for a comprehensive eye examination at RA Glass, retinal imaging is a straightforward and non-invasive part of the process. Initially, we will review your medical history and discuss any vision concerns you may have. This helps us tailor the examination to your specific needs.

You will then be seated in front of the retinal imaging device, where you will rest your chin on a support to keep your head still. The device captures detailed images of your retina using a flash of light. The process is quick, painless, and takes only a few minutes to complete.

Understanding Your Retinal Images

After the imaging, our optometrists will review the high-resolution pictures of your retina. We will explain the results to you, highlighting any areas of concern and discussing the best course of action if treatment or further monitoring is required. Our goal is to ensure you have a clear understanding of your eye health and feel confident in the care you receive.
